This was an enjoyable superhero team book, but nothing particularly special Pretty much all of the team members were new to me I recognize Speedball and Nova from way back, though obviously this Nova is new to the job I recognize the name Vance Astro from the original Guardians of the Galaxy, but, if this is the same character, he s gone through enough changes as to be totally unrecognizable I m also not familiar with the original New Warriors, though I m aware of the role they played in Mar This was an enjoyable superhero team book, but nothing particularly special Pretty much all of the team members were new to me I recognize Speedball and Nova from way back, though obviously this Nova is new to the job I recognize the name Vance Astro from the original Guardians of the Galaxy, but, if this is the same character, he s gone through enough changes as to be totally unrecognizable I m also not familiar with the original New Warriors, though I m aware of the role they played in Marvel s Civil War.So why did I pick up this title then Curiosity mainly I m always up for a good superhero yarn And the chance to investigate what the New Warriors were all about intrigued me Besides, I ve always kind of liked Speedball, being a Steve Ditko creation and all Awkwardly worded Speedball is the Ditko creation, not me Storywise, this was a pretty typical team book volume one We introduce the cast, draw them together by giving them a common villain to fight, include an appearance by established heroes who are impressed by the new team s promise, shake well, and serve Personality wise, I get the biggest kick from Scarlet Spider and Hummingbird, but the entire team is promising We end on a pretty decent cliffhanger for volume two, and follow that with a solo Scarlet Spider story that is, honestly, pretty forgettable though it may haveimpact for longtime fans of the character I like this book and all, but there s really nothing in it that rises above average I ve read better, I ve read worse Warriors reborn Speedball and Justice gather a group of young heroes including Sun Girl, Hummingbird, the new Nova and a couple of fresh faces to stop the latest threat to the Marvel Universe Atlanteans, Inhumans, Morlocks, clones and hundreds of other so called superior beings are living among normal humans, but not everyone is pleased about that The High Evolutionary has raised an army to combat the evolution of humanity and the all new New Warriors are locked in his deadly sights Collecting New Warriors Here is my experience with the New Warriors Collected Marvel cards featuring each of them, when I was a little kid.Enjoyed a lot of books written by Abnett and Lanning, about the original Nova, Richard Ryder.Watched them cause an explosion at a school that killed innocent men women and Children. That is as far as my New Warrior experience goes. This is a new generation of heroes, however, and I really like the concept that Christopher Yost came up with to connect all of these random characters tog Here is my experience with the New Warriors Collected Marvel cards featuring each of them, when I was a little kid.Enjoyed a lot of books written by Abnett and Lanning, about the original Nova, Richard Ryder.Watched them cause an explosion at a school that killed innocent men women and Children. That is as far as my New Warrior experience goes. This is a new generation of heroes, however, and I really like the concept that Christopher Yost came up with to connect all of these random characters together each one represents a different type of enhanced human, whether it be a hybrid, a mutant, a demigod, a Super human, etc.I really want to readtrades featuring this team, and I have been a fan of Yost, especially after his involvement in the Wolverine and the X men cartoon, and his run on the original Wolverine led X force I m interested to see where this is going, feelslike a genuine attempt at bringing the new warriors back It s kinda a nostalgia book but it s done fairly well so far The characters that I knew were pretty true to character and the new ones were compelling I like the tone so far, it s irreverent and fun but done in a earnest way. 3.5 stars Really enjoyed it, liked the flashing between characters and scenes at the beginning Thought the story was a little confusing at point but liked it a lot as it went on Definitely looking forward to volume 2. The new Nova brought me here Was a bit overwhelmed by too many new super heroes that I m not familiar with First New Warriors for me and I m not sure I ll return. This was pretty good It was almost as fun as the original New Warriors comic, but it was definitely lacking in characterization This pools together a bunch of stuff that s been happening around Marvel the Scarlet Spider and Aracely, the new Sun Girl, Justice and Speedball hanging out with Nova, a new Inhuman Throw in the High Evolutionary preparing for the arrival of the Celestials and you ve got some colorful superhero shennanigans. This graphic novel has a whole mass of superheroes struggle against a foe. This book lost me a good graphic novel needs one clear goodie and one clear baddie, this was just a whole world of bizarre characters.
