Poor Walter didn t get much to say in the TV show, so this audiobook gives him a place to shine and strut his awesome Everyman stuff The story of a poor working schlub who just dials the Stargate and little else suddenly being thrust into all Hell breaking loose was very entertaining I didn t care all that much for the woman in the story her voice was annoying but she didn t appear enough to spoil things.I also loved the hard ass Colonel Kurtzon or however it was spelled in the script her Poor Walter didn t get much to say in the TV show, so this audiobook gives him a place to shine and strut his awesome Everyman stuff The story of a poor working schlub who just dials the Stargate and little else suddenly being thrust into all Hell breaking loose was very entertaining I didn t care all that much for the woman in the story her voice was annoying but she didn t appear enough to spoil things.I also loved the hard ass Colonel Kurtzon or however it was spelled in the script here who was ready to nuke the entire facility the character s voice was exactly like a certain fat, dead famous Method actor Had a good giggle with that one

3,5 starsThe SG teams just agree that you know, when they send their iris code through the wormhole, they like to know that there s a real person on the other other end, someone that they can trust to get it rightA story from Walter s perspective I m in.Where Does It Fit This episode features Gary Jones as the voice of Walter Harriman It is supposedly set in one of the last two seasons of Stargate SG 1, since he mentions working at Stargate command for 9 years and refers to the O 3,5 starsThe SG teams just agree that you know, when they send their iris code through the wormhole, they like to know that there s a real person on the other other end, someone that they can trust to get it rightA story from Walter s perspective I m in.Where Does It Fit This episode features Gary Jones as the voice of Walter Harriman It is supposedly set in one of the last two seasons of Stargate SG 1, since he mentions working at Stargate command for 9 years and refers to the Ori However he also mentions that Carter and McKay were in the Pegasus Galaxy at the time, and that Dr Lee was working on constructing the mid way station, making a placement in early Atlantis season 4likely.The Summary Just another quiet night shift at Stargate Command, thought Walter Everything was gonna be ok Ordinary Just another routine gate diagnostic Until everything goes so wrong and Walter gets trapped with an injured Sergeant Siler in the control room because of an attack An attack that Stargate Command thinks Walter himself planned.Long story short this is what happens when we are painfully gate experts free hahaha Stargate Command needsexperts, I guess The Storyline I liked the drama and what was happening but the way it was told kinda turned it all to the boring stuff Unfortunately due to the choice of the presentation, some of the suspense was lost through the medium It was inevitable, I know but still, it could have been handled better For example, since Walter was relating the story from a future time, the threat to life was effectively cancelled sigh The story is limited to the base control room and a lot of it is thinking aloud The Characters SilasWhy does this always happen to meSiler after being electrocutedSame old, same old Man, poor Siles He had a tendency to be the victim of electrical shocks because of his work with the high powered Stargate Even though none of these have been life threatening so far, as running gag, he was often injured, either by the electrical systems, enemies, alien devices, his own wrench the one needed for the capacitors of the Stargate , or tests So no suprise there when he gets injured and pass out Still, it was good to have another familiar face.Walter I like Walter I always did A lot He was always in background, always there, every episode for ten seasons I loved that No matter how minor his role was or how little his scene was Walter was always there, often placed in charge of operating the S.G.C s dialing computer He was trusted with much, and was known to be loyal to his work He was following the strict protocols in the military, and as we all know he is known to know exactly what the commanding officer wants, before he even has to say it So when he was pissed due to Stargate Command s approach to the situation and the accusation I was pissed too Like Walter said, unbeliavably insulting after all those years of service but view spoiler Lucian Alliances man, it s our answers to everything that goes wrong after season 10 it seems hide spoiler I see where they are coming from but I was pissed Dont touch my Walter Anyway, Walter was really smart here Understanding what was going on and putting two and two together, he did such a great job Major Gina Roberts The hostage negotiator who believes Walter is responsible for what is happening at the gateA OK character for most of the time but I didnt buy the whole I dont like the half of a story crap as an explanation Wasnt she just a bit too curious Random Thoughts This really reminded me a similiar episode and its villian Entity where an entity from P9C 372 makes its way into Stargate Command through MALP transmission, and immediately begins to take over a section Walter gets to be a hero here finally What was the deal with Colonel Kurtzon I didnt get him His voice was justweird and I dont understand why he was in charge or why he was acting that way I mean seriously Walter s record speaks for itself, right The interwiew was the best one so far I never knew Richard Dean Anderson was the one who named Walter I love how he did it Just another reason to love that guy Recommended YES Sometimes it feels like a low budget TV episode when the money ran out mid season but overall I really liked this one

An exciting situation for Walter Gave me chills when the gate activated, and you know the situation just keeps getting harder and harder for the poor gate technician I enjoyed the audio effects and the narration It s all done very well. The two things I didn t fully enjoy however, was first, the drawn out introduction Almost put me off the story, but I m glad I stuck through it Second, the style the story was presented The inception of a story within a story Having the narration constantly An exciting situation for Walter Gave me chills when the gate activated, and you know the situation just keeps getting harder and harder for the poor gate technician I enjoyed the audio effects and the narration It s all done very well. The two things I didn t fully enjoy however, was first, the drawn out introduction Almost put me off the story, but I m glad I stuck through it Second, the style the story was presented The inception of a story within a story Having the narration constantly interrupted unnecessarily, ripping you out of the intense situation to the boring present, took away the great tension it builds up, as well as shows from the very start it will all work out in the end It s a bit disappointing.4.5

Entertaining but like a deleted scene or an Easter egg on a DVD He acted very well, though However story wise I m afraid this is a big fat meh.

During a boring nightshift with Landry away from the base and SG 1 off world, all hell breaks loose in the SGC and the only one who can fix the problem is Walter, who for once gets somethingchallenging to do than dialing the gate Great addition to the audio series
